Chapéro is an organic tea from Kasuga-Yakusoten in Gifu prefecture that we had the chance to harvest ouselves, hence the name ! We are very proud to present you this wonderful tea : a great tasting experience that we can only recommend you to try.
On the foot of the sacred Mount Ibuki, Kasuga-Yakusoten cultivated several types of tea since the 14th century (!), making it one of the oldest institution in the region. Chapéro is made from a rare native variety, grown naturally without the use of any chemical fertilizers, hand-picked, and hand-rubbed. Thanks to all these efforts the plants are well adapted to the local environment and thus can survive the harsh snowy winters. In turns, the tea is not as sweet as ones from other regions but its fragrance is rich, fresh and elegant.
