Château de la Selve

At the Château de la Selve, winemakers Benoît and Florence Chazallon take care of a 44-hectare vineyard, organic and biodynamic since 2002. Their modern approach to farming allowed them to resurrect and magnify the qualities of the local terroir which were, until they took over the Estate in 1990, concealed by decades of chemical soils exhaustion. In the vineyard, Benoit’s approach is as non-interventionist as possible in order for the vines to grow undisturbed, benefiting from the natural influence of both weather and terroir. In the cellar, Florence helps give the wines finesse and subtlety thanks to, here again, a very minimalistic approach to winemaking. The end result is astonishing with clear, sharp wines with a lot of energy and each their distinctive style.
