Located near Montpellier, on the other side of the Pic-Saint-Loup, le Mas des Quernes was created by two friends devoted to enhance technical mastery and impeccable quality of their wines. The collective skills and experiences of oenologist, Jean Natoli, and Peter Riegel, a German wine merchant, have made their joint venture a genuine exposé of delicious, organic wines that directly reflect the local soils and varietals. After visiting countless vineyards, this valley of dry stone walls, Roman ruins, ancient olive trees and - of course - luscious, green vineyards proved to be the mosaic of terroirs the two friends had been seeking. Actively protecting its direct environment, the estate is a refuge to many protected species that, in turn, help keep the vines healthy. This natual balance also reflects itself in the wines which are not only elegant and well balanced but also lively and incredibly aromatic.
